AI Robots

For more than 80 years the world has been intrigued by the concept of robots and whether or not they could actually one day replace us in every facet of life. While that is not likely to happen, the concepts that have since come into play are making it more of a reality than ever before. This all comes into play with the theories on artificial intelligence and how it affects the robots that we now use for a good many things. You can also see that more and more people are turning to science fiction for the best in this world and some of it is not all that far off base. Issac Asimov for instance is the man responsible for the laws of robotics, a concept that is put into play more often than people would like to think.

The idea of robots working along side humans or in place of for that matter is a matter of opinion that some say is possible and others deny the feasibility of. This all comes back to artificial intelligence. The main difference between a robot and a human is the brain and the ability to think and react under changing circumstances. While it is true that robots are far superior in other areas, such as strength and the ability to maintain control without the emotional involvement, they are not yet capable of unique thought. So in more basic terms, robots do what they are taught or programmed to do and not able to react with a unique thought pattern. They will only react to a given situation in the manner that they were told to so there is no variation.

The concept of artificial intelligence in robots states that it is possible for robots to become learning machines and thereby react and think along the same lines as humans. This is not a reality (at least not at this point) because the robots are still the most rational creations on the planet. This means that they will react and think in the most logical manner and not be swayed by the emotional concepts that so many of us as humans must take into consideration. This can become a dangerous situation if the concept of artificial intelligence for robots becomes a reality. If for instance the military decided to use the robots instead of soldiers and they went to war. There would be no denying that they could be very swift in their manner but they would lack the basic human emotions that make people far superior.
